    cockpit enclosure

Here are some pictures. I used screws to hang the material from the bimini. Then I traced out the vinyl to the windshield. Wrap the edges, sew and put in snaps. Then work my way around, one piece at a time. Crude, but effective Got to the back curtains, and I just cut them wide and...

    cockpit enclosure

I have made several with materials from Rochforsupply.com I made them with a cheap sewing maching. I wish I had a nice walking-foot, but a cheap Brother got it done.

    Registration

I've been through this several times in Virginia and North Carolina. IF you can see the old registration numbers, or the number on the sticker, that makes your life a LOT easier. Call the state, explain that you are trying to gain title and give them the numbers. Depending on the state...

How to best start a boat with a push button

Sounds like only the start circuit relay went bad in the ECM. You could take the cowl off and hit the primer/enrichener by hand if it has a manual bypass. If you have no way to hit the choke/enrichener, you have been doing pretty good to get it started at all! Be happy with that at worst.

    Spectrum 16 Sport anyone?

Just got this boat free with purchase of a trailer. No title, so I applied and got it back yesterday. YES!!! It's a 1994 Spectrum 16 Sport. Has a front casting deck and livewell, but back-to-back seats in the cockpit and carpet/vinyl everywhere for comfort. Here are a couple of pics when I...

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

I forgot to attach the clip of the Evinrude 50 and how quiet and smooth it is at cruising speed of 25-30. Here it is:

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

I apologize to you... It's my fault, as I switched gears to the 16 Mariner V. The 18 is rated for 135. The 16 is only rated for a 50.

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

The pad is smaller than the transom plate of the motor. So the motor sticks down below it. I decided to just replace the pad, regardless of what motor I use. A new one looks better anyway. Thanks for sharing that experience. I put a 50 Evinrude on my 16 Princecraft, and the difference is...

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

Got my bolts through the transom and everything is absolutely rock-solid. I'm very pleased with the outcome. One issue is that the engine pad on the outside is too small for the Evinrude 48 SPL that I've been thinking of using, and this transom has never been drilled. I have a 35 HP...

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

I just came home with some ridiculously expensive plywood and bolts for the transom. MAN, inflation is vicious for hardware and wood. I think I'm going to get all the bolts in first. I'll probably save the plywood work until tomorrow, but we'll see...

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

Thinking about it, it probably makes more sense just leaving them together. Many who responded have a 16, others have the 18, and a few a 14 or 21. Either way, it's the same group of Starcraft people, a fairly small group at that. And the boats are so similar that any thoughts and ideas I...

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

Makes sense. I'm curious about the 18', but I'm probably not going to change anything on that one. I wonder if I can't just change the title to this one, to avoid having to copy/paste a lot of information?

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

This is a kind of strange picture perspective, using a fish-eye lens setting. It makes the boat look short and really wide, but you can see how the rear deck is my driving seat also: I'm trying to decide if I want to move the console back and do the same thing in the Mariner. On the plus...

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

Hmmm. Good catch. You got me thinking, so I looked at the title, and it said "Starcraft Mariner 16." So I was thinking the guy lost the splash well, along with hardware and other stuff, but then I looked at the catalog... Well, lookie there. This is definitely the boat I have...

    New-To- Me 1972 Starcraft 18' Mariner-V... Thoughts?

Guys, I know you are going to think I'm crazy, but I found a 16' Mariner on a nice trailer, already gutted out for a very good price, so I went and got it. This one is in MUCH cleaner condition: It is missing a lot, but at least it had the corners and transom cap. Being already gutted...
