    1979 Evinrude 6904E 6HP Impellar Change

    How do you separate the lower unit from the mid section, to get at the impellar? I currently have a small gap, but not enough to allow a tool in there to loosen the shift shaft. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to pry on the 2 halves for fear of damaging the cases...
