Yes the power come from the ECU in this particular engine , i saw no relays beetwin the ECU and the fuel pump.
When the engine dont start because the fuel pump is not energised, i plug the fuel pump whit to wires (12 volt and grund) and that work, but the pump run all the time and not stop...

I need fuel tank cap for a Johnson 2003 3.5 hp J3RSTF P/N 114800, but this part is N.L.A. from BRP acording to my local dealer, and seems have not aftermarket equivalent .
Do you think a fuel cap from Tohatsu's build Mercury is the same ?

There no fuses and no relays on this particular manual start motor.
Acording to wiring diagram, the ECM direcly apply power or ground to the fuel pump.

Costumer install New Quantum hi pressure fuel pump not working
Receive 12-15 volts DC from de ECM (pump disconect ) when pull start, but 0 when pump is conected. If i plug the fuel pump on a battery the motor run good.

Finaly after changed the uper crankshaft seal and the idle was about 75 % better
Also changed the top ignition coil after found a cracked magnet and the holeshot is now good and the idle too

Just removed the exhaust covers : Sleeves are ok ( not rotated) , pistons rings and pistons skirts are like new .Ordered news gaskets and whil try whit the new upper crakshaft seal ............
Yes for sure the motor is not use until i find the trouble, but i dont think is the carburetor because that make no difference ( in idle when i change the top and bottom
i haved order a new one and try next week because when i removed the flywheel for check the seal, i't just maybe a little bit oil around it , but i'm not sure it will make a lot of difference like that a hi RPM but the new is ordered anyways .
