No issue with it dropping some over time, just trying to rule out that we're not loosing power to the pump after it starts

yes the filter WAS pretty dirty even down into it a bit. I pulled it. as far as pressure maintaining 40 I will check that again...

yes it is mechanical although the parts look up pages I use(merc) shows a second fuel pump near the filter, for serial # over 330000...

I just replaced the fuel pump and regulator and still the same. 43 lbs while it primes 39ish sitting. could this be from a bad IAC...
