Hi Guys,please give me some guidance on this one!.
If i have two Mercury 7.5hp outboards,one longshaft(not running)and one shortshaft(running well),can i swap the top ends over to form one longshaft running engine?.

I am trying identify my mercury outboard by model and serial number,but alas i can only find some reference to it,s model.After removing the hood i managed to find some letters saying comet lightning,and where it says SER NO,there is nothing.
