    50-1 Mix in a new 4 stroke

Thanks for your all's input , it's just one of those things i never heard of before. My thoughts were if anything were to happen it might clog up the fuel injector or foul out a plug . This is the first 4 stroke motor I've had so I'll be going through a learning curve with this.

    50-1 Mix in a new 4 stroke

I just upgraded to a new Tohatsu mfs 60 and still had several gallons of some pre mix 50-1 gas in the integrated tank on my boat. The dealer is telling me not a problem to leave it in there and run it through and switch over to straight gas . This is a brand new motor that needs to be...

What is this rusting at the end of the steering bar?

Look at the various wire wheel and or wire cup attachments you can put on a drill or the dremel type tool. They make all kinds of extensions to get in hard to reach places, use compressed air to blow off the dust after you clean it, and wipe it down with solvents, then paint. From what i can see...

    1989 70 hp evinrude won't crank

You might want to get your battery checked , even though its showing 12 + volts it might have a bad cell ? Any auto parts store will do this for free. Also check to see if your getting the spark to jump a 1/2" with an open air tester.

    1989 70 hp evinrude won't crank

It showed up like the @ symbol on here but it's suppose to be terminal "D" Thanks for catching that

It might be your solenoid ? Attach a positive battery jumper to terminal © and a negative battery jumper to terminal @. The solenoid should close with an audible click.

Drops of gear oil Johnson 70 TLESB

I'm seeing a few drops of gear oil coming from this weep hole only when i have the motor tilted up. It smells and feels like gear oil , its not residual gas / oil. Is this anything i should be concerned about ? I haven't changed the gear oil since spring so i'm not sure if water is getting...
