I have a 1984 Mercruiser that I have rebuilt, an am just getting ready to install the cam and whamo... no dot on the cam gear! :eek: How is it to be reinstalled If I can't get the dots aligned? I've never seen this in auto engines. I know I can go by the lobes to get close, but one tooth off...
Does anyone know how to re-install the crank pulley on a 1983 Mercruiser 3.0? It is a press fit and "whacking" it on (even sitting on the flywheel) is not an option for me. Any stress from impact may affect the thrust bearing and I really don't want that. So, has anybody done it before? If...

Does anyone know what the transom thickness is supposed to be on a 1982 Stingray 17 foot open bow with a Mercruiser Strendrive? I want to make sure I make it the correct thickness as the other wood was rotten and swollen. Thanks
