    mercury 4.5hp throttle stuck

    My motor is a 4.5 hp mercury cerca '86. the throttle is sticking, and to give it gas i have to really give it some elbow grease to twist the handle... maybe i just need to open it up and lube it? or maybe its something more complicated? any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I just bought this boat and got it on the water on last weekend. The boat is a 16 foot closed bow bass boat. At full throttle the RPM were just up over 4000. My question is what is a comfortable RPM range for this motor? Thanks.
