    Building a tackle drawer unit

You are looking at some serious money to buy components that will last. And starboard may be easy to work with, but it isn't so easy to work with and keep it looking good. Might as well bite the bullet and spend the $775.49 they are asking for the one in the picture. Gulp.

    Oil injected Mercury

This is nothing to play with. If you fail, the motor will be junk. Accept that your father knew what he was doing. Sell it as is. Inform the buyer that the oil needs to be added to the gas. Actually, it would be a good idea to put it in writing, on the Bill of Sale. Ratio is 50 to 1

    What size trailer?

I know it has been discussed several times here on iBoats. Can only find one thread on it now. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/maximum-trailer-tongue-length.570965/ I also searched for it on the web in general, some years ago, and found it on a trailer manufacturing site. 4', or perhaps it...

    What size trailer?

DOT regs state max distance from coupler to winch post (forward most cargo area ) is 4'. I've got a cargo trailer with a very long ( 8' )tongue. Never had a LEO question a longer tongue and I've been towing that trailer since 1986. There is a spare tire, and a small tool box bolted to the...

    What size trailer?

I'd look for one at least 19' long, gives you a little space between winch post and tow vehicle. You can go with a narrow trailer, where the boat sits above the fenders. But I prefer a wider trailer, so the boat sits between the fenders. It makes loading the boat, and climbing in, easier. Also...

    Data on Vintage Boat

Hin decoder says 1998, not '88. model FM166SC Lowe was part of OMC when they went bancrupt, and has changed ownership several times, and I believe there were actually 3 different "Lowe" companies over the years. Good luck finding any detailed specs on the boat. their model numbers are crazy, i...

Small and light boat for 5+ people?

Look for an aluminum 18' open bow, like a Starcraft 18SS. Will have seating for 6 or 7, and total weight capacity of 1600 to 1800 pounds. 2nd option is a deck boat. 3rd option is a pontoon.

    Are you ready to puke?

It looks to be an aluminum boat, so hopefully the stringers and floor supports are all aluminum too.

I need help/advice to fix my 14.6 ft Alumicraft v-bottom boat from scratches/gouges and cracking sealer in the front bottom.. Thanks!

KEEL DAMAGE: IF YOU BOAT IN ROCKY RIVER, I SUGGEST YOU PUT A KEEL GUARD or Keel Shield ON THE HULL. The foamy stuff inside is a sealer that manufacturer put between the hull and the keel when they riveted it on. The part that is exposed is not sealing anything, nothing wrong with it. If you...
