No spark on 35hp 1978 Evinrude outboard

Woa, woa, woa, wait a minute. If you put a water hose on that tube be VERY CAREFULL. A water pump puts out no where near the pressure of a water hose. It'll blow the head gasket and bend the rods if you turn that hose wide open while it's running. I've seen it first hand. Maybe remove the...

    melted stator ? - 73 Johnson 65hp

I've ran them for years leaking like that. If it's working don't worry about it.

    Impeller replacement schedule

I think the deal is the rubber these days. It doesn't last nearly as long as it used to. Stick to OEM or US aftermarket. If you buy Chinese rubber products, it'll last about a year or less. I've had motors 20 years old with functional impellers. Now days you better check them at least every 5...

Since you provided the part number, I've found that part available on several sites at a decent price. Again, thanks!

Yamaha 30 SG carb emulsion tube

Did that. Shows part without a reference number. That's how I was able to reference #14 main jet which does.

Yamaha 30 SG carb emulsion tube

Anyone know if this is available? It's the emulsion tube that slides in under the main jet #14. Someone mangled the tubes and main jets. Need the part number for tube/nozzle if available.

Spark plug recommendations for 1973 evinrude 65 triumph.

I aquired one recently that is mint looking I gave 200 for. It had 100 lbs on the middle cylinder and 115 on the other two. I soaked it for a couple of days with marvel mystery oil then ran after cleaning all the carbs. All cylinders had over 120 afterwards. The guy I got it from said he was...

Spark plug recommendations for 1973 evinrude 65 triumph.

The first thing you needed to do is oil the cylinders. The second is clean all the of those carbs and be sure all the jets are wide open. Then since it was locked up mix your fuel 40:1. 3rd Take the starter apart and blow all the old carbon from the brushes out, polish the armature with some...

    Battery sparking

That's an automotive setup being used in a marine application; bad idea. They invite corrosion and resistance. Get a marine starting battery and change the terminal ends to heavy duty tin coated ring terminals. Coat with dialectric grease or petroleum jelly if in a salty environment.

Using navigation lights with bow lights in unison.

If you run the Mississippi River at night without lights in a small craft your family most likely will be planning your funeral. There are all types of debris floating down especially on a rising river. There are also wing dams made out of rift raft rocks. If you aren't using a navigation...

    CROSSFLOW PERFORMANCE ?'s

I had the exact same thing happen a couple of times recently with my 1982 90hp. I would be running wide open about 40mph then it would stall out. Eventually my power pack in the starboard side died. I found a couple of things that could have caused the stall though. While the cowling was off...

1996 - Johnson Outboard - Difficulties Starting But Runs Great

Did you check the float height? May be low fuel level in the bowl causing hard starting.
