The motor is in pretty nice condition, but it just does not want to run at slow speed and idle. I am a shade tree mechanic and just don't seem to have the expertise to fix it my self, so am going to sell it.

My wife was concerned about going out on the Gulf with no backup engine, so I made a custom mount that attaches to the transom and rear platform. I plan to mount a 25 Hp Long Shaft OB and am wondering if anyone has any ideas to share about this setup.

Just reclaimed my motor from the shop, since they couldn't identify what was causing the engine to die when throttled back below half way.
It is SN-4286902 with Thunderbolt (CDI) Ign and single carb, pull start only, long shaft. Carb perfectly clean, good gas, plenty of spark at all settings...
