    1981 35hp Evinrude Does shaft need to be pulled from lower to replace impeller

    I just removed lower unit and everything separated except impeller. I know there is a keeper pin on the shaft and won't pull up. When I try the shaft wants to come out of the gearcase. Is that okay? Does it need to be removed and knock it off? Thanks for your help......

    1981 35hp Evinrude possible flooding at start

    Does this year model have reeds in the carb? If so, if they go bad would this cause my flooding problem. The plugs are wet and does this carb have fixed jets?

    1981 Evinrude 35hp not starting

    A little background on this engine. Had not started in 7 yrs and was gift to son from Great Grandfather. Replaced water pump, fuel pump and new plugs and fired up first turn of the key like new engine. Two weeks later at full throttle the engine bogged down and died what seemed like it ran out...
