OK this is a 03 Johnson J115PLSTS 2 stroke. Carb Motor.
The issue is the motor starts up fine , once i give it a lil gas it bucks and shakes.
It clears up once it breaks plane and runs great. I had 3 miles of no wake and it was horrible.
BUT on the way home it seemed a lil better WEIRD!!

Took my boat out this weekend and it has not been out in 3 months or so ...
It was not running smooth , idled rough but when you gave it gas it seemed to pick up and run fine except i could hear a ticking sound coming from the starter cover .....

OK i purchased this boat in this past spring ... The motor is a 2004 Johnson 115hp 2 Stroke !!!
After taking it out a few times i noticed that when i would run the boat in my driveway it would spew oil out the prop and onto the wall of my house !!!

The boat has sat for several months , and now i own it except when we got it started it ran fine for about 30 seconds then started shaking and popped and quit it would not start again for about 24hours or so...
I have just purchased a boat got it home and went to pull the hood/cowling off and the it was stuck , and the damn lever broke off , now i have no way to even try ....
I am not a boat mechanic , but im just curious can this be taken off without breaking the dog house / cowl ?

My issue is the RPM's ...
WOT all i can reach is 4500 with the motor trimmed down , with the motor timmed up i can get it up to 4700rpms trimmed up thats with a couple people in it , but i have noticed it dont do much better rpm...
