Hi all, pretty bummed here. I've had our brand new Saturn SD330W out twice and there's already a hole in the floor. I use wheels and don't drag it anywhere. The damage is exactly where the wood section of the air floor pushes down on the hull. It looks to be pushing too hard on the bottom...
thank you. I havent had it out in flat conditions yet. Every day so far has been windy and choppy. Its really hard to tell since it looks like the plate "might" be too high be maybe an inch. I'll need to get it out a few more times before deciding. Thanks again!
****, after looking at these pics, I think I have to lower the transom on my SD330W. The plate sits right at the water line when sitting but any amount of throttle will expose it.
What did you use to seal the exposed wood in the transom?
Hopefully we'll have everything ready to go by next weekend! My need to get list is:
1. marine VHF
2. Bimini top. Need to measure the width of the boat before ordering
3. fishing pole holders
4. lights
5. anchor
Railblaza seems to be the go-to accessory mount so ill be using that for both...
Newby here. My wife and I have been taking the tandem Hobie out for a few years and enjoy being out on the water. We use it to cruise around the bays, check out hidden beaches and fish. We recently got a dog and that has limited our day long trips significantly since we don't want to leave...
