I have a 1972 Evinrude 85hp outboard and I wanted to know if anyone can tell me the years compatible for parts such as the lower unit,carbs exct.

I have a 1978 Mercury 900 6 Cyl 90 hp outboard. The top carb sprays fuel out the overflow spot so I removed the carb and rebuilt it. I reinstalled it and it still does it. Even when you squeeze the primer ball it sprays the fuel out the overflow spot. Any ideas on what the problem is?
The top carb in my outboard is squirting fuel out of the overflow valve, so I need to take it out and clean/rebuild it but I dont know how to get it it. If anyone has directions or a video on how to remove it that would be great.
