    Yamaha 115 anodes

I fully understand and am capable of removing the heads. Biggest concern there is breaking head bolts. I think ill just leave them. This is a 24 year old engine with unknown hours on it used in salt water. The boat is new to me and if I decide I love it would consider a 4 stroke repower. For...

    Yamaha 115 anodes

I am getting my new to me 02 yamaha 115 2 stoke ready for my first season with her including water pump service and new thermostats. My friend who had a F225 4 stoke mentioned changing the anodes, he/we assumed it had block anodes similar to the F225. In the attached screen shot of the...

Hi all, It been a long while since I been on here and I hope everyone is doing well. Last week I discovered that the oil cooler on my 7.4L Bluewater inboard had failed and I had milkshake coming out the exhaust with the cooling water. The oil cooler has been replaced, no more milkshake in the...

    496 bravo 3 3000 RPM plus overheat

A few weeks ago we rodded both heat exchangers which seems to have helped. They took the boat on a 2 hour trip from their marina to Altantic City 3K most of the way no overheat alarms. However he decided that this fall when the he would like to put through hulls in for engine cooling. This...

    1989 5.7L 4brl won't idle below 900 - 1000 rpms

I may have forgot to mention if I adjust the the idle screw to lower it to normal 700ish rpms the engine stalls and will not fire or idle again without added throttle. Once I re adjust the idle screw back up the 900 + RPMs she will run fine all. The idle screw has to be turned to the point of...

    1989 5.7L 4brl won't idle below 900 - 1000 rpms

Yesterday I helped another friend prep his boat, my old Invader. After gear oil change, flat tire repair and a failed attempt to replace temp over heat sensor her 5.7L Rochester 4brl bravo 1 fired right up. This is a reman 5.7 with all the original bravo bits and pieces from the original...
