I did check, cant find anything out of spec .not wrapped. Check the water jacket plate and cylinder head cover. That gasket looked real healthy.

Is there a chance its leaking at the power head gasket or no?
Is there any other tests i can do too see? Its just a realy hard spot to see with the cowl in the way, altho i do belive its on the cylinder head side
Black hose is good. Leaks like a siv when it runs. Ill be carful it doesnt look terrible.
Not sure on salt water, it sat for 3 years , took it on trade. Started up fine compressions high and no water in lower unit.
20hp johnson 2 stroke 1987 has a leak just under the bottom spark plug almost looks like the cylinder head cover gasket. Would this be correct i have a video not the best quality.
The tell tail pees and the exhaust spits fine.

Special tools and set up to replace a lower unit?? Wouldnt most simular models just bolt up?
Racerone mentioned welding it, even tho the housing nut(i belive thats the first nut behind the prop) has jumped the threads is it a good idea to weld it?

I have a lower unit with a pretty good crack in behind the gear housing section,
Im worried it may blow up soon it has been used like this past two years various trips in the river not a major hour racker tho. Two or three tanks of fuel a season.
