    Luckily a neighbor has a heavy duty sewing machine and has been able to sew patches and fix tears in my sunbrella cover. I've tried glues and iron on patches but like you found out do not work. Maybe the goop stuff will work otherwise I would have a new strip of sunbrella sowed on the cover then...

    Personally I wouldn't chance it with my outboard but you beat the odds and definitely got your money's worth. It is interesting/ educational to see that old of a water pump.

    Does the coast guard actually respond to radio checks on ch 16 other than telling you ch 16 is for hailing and distress only and to take your traffic to another working frequency? They have several towers they can switch to so you can hear them loud and clear one minute then weak the next...
