    Mercruiser 5.6L with Alpha 1 Drive in Fwd Intermittently disengages at high RPM

    I have a Celebrity 290 with Mercruiser 5.6L with Alpha 1 I/O drives. At approximately 2700 rpm the propellor disengages. Checked the prop and its fine. When I try and turn by hand in fwd it disengages. In reverse its fine. Is ther a linkage I can adjust or is the problem in the drive. Any ideas...

    Suzuki DT4 1989

    In forward/reverse when increasing throttle stalls. In neutral works fine. Cleaned carb and inspected fuel pump appears normal.
