    Be careful...manufacturers service manuals state never to run more than 1/2 throttle on muffs, or you risk damage and/or runaway engine.

    in answer to your questions, yes the motor is verticle when doing this, I have always used a manual pump to refill, but, I did see my father-in-law must have done it without, for he had just the squeeze tubes...but you probably want to go with the recommendations to do the impeller first though.

    i would expect so...one for the lower one for the upper. usually take the upper screw out first...then the lower to drain. refill from the lower...when oil comes out the top screw hole...put the upper one in...then put the lower one in.

    I assume you mean the fuel pump mounted on the outboard...not the hand pump off the fuel tank.

    Have you checked the fuel pump yet?, When we started using my father-in-laws boat, (1986 merc) it ran for a bit then the fuel pump rubber started to disengrate. Ran find after the fuel pump rebuild.

    I replaced the plywood decking/carpet in an aluminum boat a couple years ago, by your pictures, simuliar configuration. Worked by myself, was probably 3-5 days. Not difficult to do, and I took my time.

    Naaaaa, 30-60 days minimum if you want work done...usually suggests buy something new or newer instead of repairing. I guess that's probably from years of experience dealing with the public:) anyway...I usually do the work myself..been a learning experience!

    Marina near here had them in stock...just a couple minutes. If you loose the key...I understand but have not confirmed...key number will be on the backside of the throttle contol unit.
