    But when I fouled the plug it sounded horrendous, I swapped the plug out and it sounds and idles amazing. Goes to half throttle amazing, but then won't rev higher than that. Idk, it's weird.     I was simply just stating that if I put it on my 12ft and it DOES go to a higher rpm than on my other boat, the the boat must be the problem and not the motor. I just want to know why my motor only hits half the rpms it's suppose to. Dirty jets, bad fuel, low compression ect. Not so worried...

    I suppose I should throw the 18 on the 12 ft boat and see if there is any difference. That will tell me for sure. I didn't think the 15ft boat would be to heavy.

    Lol no. I have a plywood floor 3/4 inch thick. A battery and a fuel tank. That's it. And one foldable seat I mounted to plywood. Maybe weighs 3lbs.     Runs strong up to about 2500rpms (not exact)but it won't go past that. While pushing me in boat. In a barrel and in reverse it will hit around 5000rpms.

    Yeah I understand that. When its Just myself in the boat, the water is passing about a 1/4 inch above the av plate. That's at around half throttle 2500 or so rpms barely on plane. But that's as fast as it will go.

    I've seen the same motor on similar 14ft boats do about 20-25mph. Apparently people have used water skis behind these motors. Mine is maxing out really really low. I don't have exact measurements but I'd say between 2k-3k rpms. It just gets on plane and then won't speed up. With 3 people my tops...

    I believe I cut it to the exact measurements it needs to be. I apologize for saying exactly 5". It was between 3.5 and 4 that I actually took it down.
