    1988 classic 50 motor problem

    i have a 1988 mercury classic 50 wich i think is a 45 horse motor if im not mistaken well it dies when i out it in gear i have taken to the repair shop and they pulled and cleaned the carbs rebuilt the fuel pump compression is good any one have any idea what the problem could be please help me

    mercury outboard question?

    my 1988 mercury 50 horse motor took it to the lake the other day the motor starts right up runs good but when i put it in gear it dies i cants even get it off the dock but it starts right back the stator has been repalced the plugs are brand new the carbs where just cleaned any one have any ideas.
