Can someone tell me why I've spent 4 hours trying to get a waterpump to sit right, flush with he bottom part of the drive? This is my 2nd new water pump. I tried putting the top on and torquing it down until it was where it needed to be, but then it tweaked the drive shaft out of alignment...

I have a 1972 boat with a Merc 165hp straight six and I have the option to buy a 1962 Merc 110hp, chevy 153. Do you know if that's a direct bolt in? The engines look the same except for missing 2 cylinders.

I bought an old 1971 cobalt boat with a 165hp mercruiser straight six. Turns out the block is cracked. I found a running chevy 250 locally and it looks like a relatively easy swap. I just don't know about the drive system. Can anyone help me out?
