I have a 60hp 2-stroke, and it doesn't seem to be 'peeing' water. I am running it with a hose hookup... would it be a water pump issue? Are there things I can trouble shoot?

I seem to be having an issue with my 60hp Merc 2-stroke... It ran fine in the fall... winterized it... started it up forgetting to connect the fuel line... ran for 30 seconds, then died out (naturally)... connected everything back up and it ran again for 30 seconds this morning but died again...
