Anyone used this before to repair leaks in aluminum boats? West Marine recommended it over the more flexible caulk style sealants from 3M.

Obviously I don't want something thats going to flake off the day after I do it, but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg to paint the outside of a small jon boat. Most likely either black or that dark army green color that seems to be the norm.
Any suggestions?

When you lay the motor on its side (on the ground) something that appears to be clean lower unit oil seaps from the weap hole on the opposite side from the fill/drain plugs.

I replaced the water pump in the 4 HP, and two days later it slowed down and stalled on me. It stunk a bit. When I tried to restart, it started on the first pull but again slow down and stalled. This time I was no longer able to pull the cord.
