Anyone know if the thermal paste (white stuff) on the side of the pipe and pump is anything specific? Or will generic paste work sold at regular hardware stores?
Thanks. There's more room than it looked like, got #11 off with no issue. Stopped there because I realized I wasn't setup to handle gas coming out of the system, will have to figure out what to do about that this week and give this the final push next weekend. Replacing this pipe and the starter.
Thanks, okay, so I'm not going anywhere near #26.
Getting the plastic front off, then removing 12 and 11 will get out of the way.
Thanks. I was worried about having to remove 26 as it looks like a major support holding the motor to the motor mount. Off to go start removing things.
I just want to do the easiest way possible :) Will the guts come out just be removing screw 21 ? Thanks for the warning, will be paying close attention.
Thank you I've found it I think (SN = 1G410891)
So I do not remove part 26 to get it removed?
It's tight , so I'm not 100% sure I can get part 23 off without getting it out of there.
The goal is to replace part number 8. The end of the pipe broke on the stern side :-/
Seems that there are less and less resources for this topic. Wondering if anyone could guide me on how to get this part out while the engine is still installed. I can access the motor mount bolts without issue. Will it be a problem pull them off to get the cooler bracket out?
It might be...
Got it, thanks. I can get to all the hoses without too much effort. Alldodge you are right, I thought it was a PS cooler but got the wrong diagram.. hopefully I find parts in the check valve.. or the distribution housing.. if not it's gotta end up in the heat exchanger right? Going to take it...
Well this isnt what I wanted to find in my 383 freshwater cooled (full closed loop) motor today.. I found one piece right in the back side of the pump housing.. next stops are the trans cooler (I always thought this was a Power steering cooler), then the check valve and the fuel cooler.. anyone...
Pretty impressed with their customer service. I sent over a message this morning and in the first line said "I do not expect a response on a holiday weekend, just wanted to get in line" - and they actually just responded and answered the question.. that's the second smaller company that has...
This is going to be about an 800 dollar difference. I'm mainly just needing the seal kit and the bellows... I can't believe how low cost this kit is vs the 450+ kits from OEM. The gimbal bearing I have in there cost me close to 200 if I'm remembering correctly and not really interested in...
No, not in danger of sinking now any more than any other day. I'd just like to eliminate the liability of adding fuel to the mix if she goes does. I can prob handle the cost of getting her back floating and out of the water, but throw gas and oil into the mix and I'm bankrupt. She's a...
