That’s overspray I haven’t cleaned off yet from a spray on rust reformer. That surface is smooth. I’m test fitting the rotor. The issue with the rotors was rust from salt water immersion. No amount of rinsing can stop it over time.

2008 Mercruiser Alpha drive. The propeller shaft has about 3/32" (its more than a 1/16th, less than an 1/8th inch) play in and out. the prop is tight on the shaft. the whole shaft is moving in and out.
