My starter is not staying engaged long enough for the engine to start. It will engage but then drops down and still spins. I have a mercury 75 hp. 1999. Could this be the selenoid? Have to figure this out fast, leaving for KY lake tues.
When I try to start the motor the starter will engage for a short time, but not stay engaged long enough to start the engine. Is this the selenoid? This is a 75 hp outboard motor. merc
