    Is the primer bulb getting hard? I'm wondering why you are having to continuously pump it. It wouldn't hurt to check the fuel pump diaphragm for a hole/tear as you mentioned. Are the darker plugs on the side of the engine that has the fuel pump? Check that spark jumps 3/8" as another poster...

    We took it out today, the tilt pin was too high. With me it got up to 18.8mph... It is going to need an impeller though. The buzzer came on when I got back to the dock when it was idling for a few minutes.

    He "said" he turned it off right away and afterwards it cooled down it ran fine and was pumping. The next trip is when it was really slow and the alarm went off when he got back to the boat ramp. He said it was pumping fine. I did the above checks on it Monday, it's pumping fine but on muffs...

    I can't believe that I left out the most important piece of information, I guess I was really tired. He got an overheat alarm at idle the two trips prior to this happening? Can a head gasket leak water when compression is good?

    I got the carrier out but the bearing on the back of it stayed in along with the prop shaft and reverse gear, they won't pull out. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Yamaha 99 idling bad - what's wrong

    Dod you mess with the float height/check float height before reassembling? I literally just had to take my friend's 25hp carb back apart after doing a rebuild kit (flooding, primer bulb not getting hard). Float was too high, runs like a top now!

    Can I use a long jaw puller to get the carrier/spool out. I can't find any specific videos for the year. Is the prop shaft pressed into the spool? Thanks.

    2cyl, J25EEED. Diaphragm replaced/fuel pump kit done along with carb kit. Spark jumps 7/16-3/8". Can't find compression tester. Impeller fairly new, pump's great.
