ASV was replaced already..will have to check the pick up tube

    Scissors-like abnormal noise from 5.7

Bulb will be removed ! anti siphon valve already replaced..! So an airleak would be a possible cause of the fuel issue then despite no sign of leaking gas Pick up tube not yet replaced Not sure if the trigger is the 2-Wire type but Why would it fail only at low rpm’s ? if purple wire drops...

    Scissors-like abnormal noise from 5.7

plugs , Cap & rotor replaced end of season 24, plugwires + coil replaced last season Carb rebuilt end of last season, but of course if there’s some debris in the fuel system the fine passages in the carb might be clogged on the very first run back home from the shop..

Totally agree re troubleshooting rather than fireing any cannon! Ok so not the pump then most likely, Though it seemed as prime suspect as I ’ve had problems with engine not fireing up - solved by putting the primer bulb in the loop and manually pumping gas. If there were some airleak due...

2 h. .. Hmm ..I guess for someone who's never been under the valve covers of any engine I fear it will take slightly longer .

    Scissors-like abnormal noise from 5.7

No idea of hours I’m third owner- (for sure the one adding the least hours to it) looking back on my previous posts I realize I’ve done nothing but chasing various issues last few seasons I did a compression test last year which to my knowledge showed the engine to be in ok condition 175...

forgot to mention,, when staring engine today I had blue smoke with the exhaust.. related to the suspected valveissue or yet another separate problem !?

    Scissors-like abnormal noise from 5.7

So today I took belt off , however noise is still there. Did tighten the portside exhaust bolts a bit..( I’m getting concerned about the seemingly slopply job the shop did.). no change to the noise though so now I need to look into the Valvetrain

    Scissors-like abnormal noise from 5.7

Have noticed this noise for some time but been busy trying to find the cause for engine dying when idleing/ low rpm.. AI tells me it could be related to mechanical fuelpump or valves.. Any input from a human would be highly appreciated..

spark from coil but not at plugs..

the hose cracked rather than melted and water did flow .. but you are correct, the portside riser has been getting considerably hotter..

spark from coil but not at plugs..

After getting a sparktester I could actually verify spark to plugs.. this led me to take one step back and look at fuel as the culprit .. I disconnected my fuel hose (which contains a garmin fuel sensor and an inline fuel filter ) and replaced with a hose with primer bulb to allow me to manually...
