have a early 70's mercruiser outrive with a 350 chevy motor. The outdrive seems to be slipping. is into neutral at about 1/3 throttle. It is either that or the rubber shock absorber on the prop has spun out. Is there an easy test or how about an easy fix? I'm kind of a newbie so any help...
Has anyone ever spun the rubber shock absorber out of a prop? We can idle up to about 1/3 throttle and then the motor acts like it slips into neutral and instantly red lines. It is not cavitating. It is mercruiser early 70's with a 350 chev.
Just got my Tachometer in tonight and would like to set the idle rpm after adjusting the carb mixture. the SELOC manual says to check the appendix for the right rpm setting and then doesn't list it. great huh!! sea level. mid grade fuel, 50:1
I have a 72 1150 tower of power. Love the motor, but hate the trim tilt. I have had two pumps go bad. I am going to get a PT-130 and need to know if I need the transom clamp adapter to mount this motor. It seems that it should bolt right up as the transom mount on the motor has bolts now...
