    Outdrive DP-SM - noise at gear engagement

    This is a brand new DP-SM drive unit replaced early May. When I engage forward or reverse I am hearing a "clunk". Just like a Mercruiser..... The other VP drive on the boat does not make any noise when engaging reverse or forward. Oil level is OK and there are no other noises during operation...

    Quick question: when filling the outdrive with oil it shall be horizontal or completely tuck in (run position)? The service manual tells to tuck the outdrive completely in for draining the oil (it makes sense for draining) but does not specify the position when refilling. Thanks in advanc
