    Bad trigger? 1977 Seahorse 55

    Suddenly no spark. Test DVA stator Good (250 V) when not connected to pack. Connected ;no voltage. CDI suggested new Pack. Go it in. Same issue. If trigger bad; will it make it seem the Pack is bad?? In other words; does the trigger need to be good to test the pack?

    Johnson Seahorse 55 1978 Idle timing

    Checked my idle timing .It needs to be set too high to run ;I think. It's supposed to be 3 Degree advance; but to run needs to be more like 10. Other than that runs good.     New piston tapping ngk plug

    89 Force 85HP. I just put in a new piston in #2 and heard a little more rattle than usual. It's getting quieter with 2 hrs break in.     Joe reeves WOT timing procedure numbers versus Clymer manual

    Hi, 89 Force 85. The clymer manual has timing setup (cranking speed- WOT) procedure the same as Joe Reeves. Except the clymer says to set 2 degrees less than 30 and Joe says 4 degrees less. Probably use the manual?? Thanks ahead

    Mariner/Yamaha 4 hp. Scored driveshaft

    Any thoughts on a very lightly scored driveshaft in a 1/2 inch section 6 inches above where lower unit bolts on? It's a 1981 probably, very inexpensive, everything else works well. I use it as a kicker; thought I might use it this season and see if it's any worse in the fall. The scored part...
