87 Starcraft CSS 180 Transom Help

With the windshield off already you're already looking pretty close to "popping the cap". Then you'll have easy access to the whole transom. Make sure the boat it well supported because you don't want it to splay out and then you'll have trouble getting the cap back on.

My 18' SS Project - update & consolidated pics

Since there's so many great new projects going on I've often had to go back and dig for pics from my project to reference when offering advice. I thought it might be helpful to put all my SS project pics in one place. So I created a new photobucket album and dumped all my SS pics in it. There...

    1972 15' Nova rebuild

    A) How about this? https://www.lowes.com/pd/Dow-STYROFO...-ft-L/50071521 or similar B) I don't think I know what you mean by dash pad. Maybe my Jupiter didn't have whatever it was. My fasteners were visible when I replace my dash panel with PVC board and I don't think it looked bad.

Posting to a thread page doesn't complete refresh. Just says "Working..." at the top

Posting to a thread page doesn't complete refresh. Just says "Working..." at the top Like the title says, whenever I make a post to a thread it never completes the page refresh with my new post in it and it just says "Working..." at the top. My post is indeed submitted but the page doesn't...

    Can't send PM's (attn GA_Boater)

I can't figure out what's going on with the message system on this site anymore. I got a PM from GA_Boater but never got any kind of notification about it on the site. Just finally saw my email notification on Gmail that had apparently gone into my Spam folder. I tried to reply (there was no...

    I'm back! And new boat.

Hello everyone, long time no see. Been away from the site for a while but I'm back and I've got a "new" boat. We had some issues with the motor on the Starcraft last season and weren't able to get it running right. That coupled with the fact that it really gets beat around by the wakes on the...

    200 hp HPDI Maintenance questions

At the end of last boating season I purchased a boat with an '02 Yamaha 200HP HPDI 2-stroke motor. While it currently runs well, based on the rest of the package I'm going to operate under the assumption that no maintenance has ever been done on it. It currently has under 300 hours on it but...

Issues with boat carpet I got, What would you do?

Hey guys, need some advice. I'm rebuilding the bow deck in my boat since I didn't build it beefy enough the first time and it cracked in a bunch of places. While my main deck is vinyl, I do like carpet up in front where people sit (when I'm not fishing). The first time I built it I used Lancer...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration I got some minor bubbles with the Nautolex adhesive also. Panicked me at first but they eventually laid down perfectly.

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Not to be a poopy-head but I used the actual Nautolex adhesive over an epoxied deck, wasn't near as meticulous as you, and had no issues. Go light on the floor carpet. It will show less dirt. I have navy in the Jupiter and it was a total...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration I wonder if it could be the adhesive was too "gaseous" or something.

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration I like the contrasting look of my carpeted hull sides. I'd keep it off the floor though.

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay! Electric shift lowers don't look any different. I already suspected it being an early 70's motor based on the paint scheme and although not much detail, a look at the shifter I can tell from the handle it's probably this: not this:
