Had spark for a while this summer now it is gone. Would like to check the kill switch & ignition key switch. What color is the wire for the kill switch?

I have a new Marine Band Radio installed on my 16ft fishing boat. Do I need a license to operate this? My old radio had a license but has expired. This new radio has DSC and wants a MMSI # to be entered.
