I have a 1952 17ft Speedqueen (1986 motor) 110HP Mariner outboard; always used in freshwater lakes but have moved to state where freshwater is limited.
I am have heard that I cannot take the boat in saltwater due to the cooling system in the outboard??? However I am unsure what that means...
I have a 1952 Speed Queen that has been restored.
I am now looking to add one of those short little platform swim ladders; it has one step and like a hand rail you pull yourself up on...not a long hanging, fold up one.
First have no clue if this ladder will work with this type of boat...

I just moved to NJ from Michigan and have a 17 ft 110HP freshwater boat and am looking to take it out here in NJ.
We use it to tube and skii and whatnot.
So far I haven't had much luck in finding any lakes. We have went out in the Maurice River just for a ride but no tubing.

I just purchased a 1986 115 HP Mariner outboard from a marina; it started up and ran fine while there
Had to lay it on its side to get it home; stayed on its side for about a day.
Just installed on the boat; now it starts up with the choke but then stalls out...wont idle on its own.
Any ideas...
