I have a 1989 Maxum 17 ft with a 85 hp Force. The fuel tank is original to the boat I’ve been told and the previous owner said it has a 28 gallon tank on it. Seems like a lot for this boat but maybe not. I can’t find the original specs to find out

I just completed a carb kit and new plugs on my 85hp Force. When I took it out on the water, it idled very “ quite and Low”. It took forever to start but finally did. I did a few laps and low throttle was ok and full throttle was ok, but middle of the road “ cruising” ran like crap and quit...
