1978 Volvo Penta 270
I have spent hours reading up on the R&R of the pds bearing, but I'm stuck now. The front and aft seals are out, the pds shaft and pds bearing are out. I removed (broke) the small snap ring on the shaft at the bearing, but cannot remove the bearing from the shaft.
My rods (with spinning reels) lay sideways in my new rod holders. Will my rods being sideways damage my rods upon a big fish strike? Trolling for Salmon? Look at the guides.

I need to replace the exhaust hose that connects the exhaust manifold to the exhaust pipe leading to the lower unit.
The hose is not uniform in shape, but has a manufactured bulge in the middle.

I am replacing the plugs in my AQ120B. I know the engine calls for W6DC plugs. I want to put in resistor plugs. The local Napa has cross-referenced an Autolite equivalent. I have been told Autolite are cheap plugs and to not use them.
Does anyone have suggestions or input?

1978 Volvo Penta AQ120B. Ran yesterday for 45 minutes on lake. Ran great, started right up. At home, drained fresh water open system at manifold and heat exchanger. Also broke and drained lines to sea water pump. Closed system has antifreeze in it.
