Thankyou for your help. Is there a shorter v8 motor mount that I could use underneath? Or maybe a different one that comes Down from the block at a steeper angle? Rather than 45 degrees to create a narrower stance?
I know your right. I thought this might save me time/money. Fibreglass isn’t cheap either though. Once I started grinding away I got into some soft core spots and some shitty layup with voids. So maybe it’s a good thing? I finished grinding the transom inside and out. Now my worst fear is coming...
I was having trouble sourcing two 290 y-pipes and flywheel covers. Also unsure about the condition of the trim pumps and cylinders. Also a little worried about splitting and re shimming the bottom ends.
Update. I have decided that since I already have all the 280 parts. including the exhaust y-pipes and correct flywheel covers with matching splines. That I will be going with the fibreglass route. Installing older 280 drives in bigger 290 c transom plate holes. Tapering back and installing some...
