Any advice on replacing the starter pull-cord on a 1987 4hp Evinrude? It broke yesterday and I can't figure out how to install the new one without removing the entire stater spring assembly.

How do you replace the starter cord on an early 90's (model # E4RDHLCUD)? It broke at end in starter housing/pulley but I can't figure out how to install new one. There doesn't appear to be any notch to attach to and how do you wind it around starter wheel?
