i have a 1989 48 special. it runs like a top starts up real easy and can troll all day without a sputter we rebuilt the carbs and put new plugs in it. it runs at 1`400 rpm,s when it is in neutral in the water. when i put it in gear it drops down to 1100.i have 3/4 17 prop on it .at top speed...
the engine starts right up on high idle but will not idle below 1000 rpm when up neutral the shift lever it stalls the compression is real good .the voltage meter is reading about 11 volts at 1000 rpm
my 1989 48 special will not idle below 1000 rpm. it runs good at full throttle but just will not idle. i ran a can of sea foam through it thinking it would help but it didn,t . thanks in advance
