    upper end on outdrive shot.. what to do?

    mercruiser pre alpha outdrive 2.0 gear ratio with a 3.0 mercruiser 140hp upper end is toast but my question is on gear ratios. my buddy gave me a upper end he had and it was in good condition so i slapped in on now after reading some more i found out this ring and pinion has a 1.5 gear ratio...

    mercruiser upper bearing shimming
