I have Tohatsu 2stroke 18hp on small 11ft aluminium Stacer
dinghy V type boat (max rated to 20hp in Australia).
I installed outboard as per Tohatsu manual with cavitation plate
about 1 1/2 inch below hull botom.
Tested yesterday. Boat pickup and going into plane was very quick and responsive but...
What 2 stroke oil would you recommend for old (29 year old) Tohatsu
M18A ?
I used fuel that came with the motor but don't know what 2 stroke oil previous owner used.
I will use TC-W3 but not sure which one.
Would old motor benefit from new technology oils or it makes no difference?

I own a early eighties Tohatsu M-18A 2 stroke. It comes with 2 pin electrical plug for running lights.
I believe that I need some kind of rectifier to charge battery for electric motor.
Does it need to be a Tohatsu rectifier or one from electronics store will work as well ?
