I have a 4.3l not positive of the year, but the boat is a 86. I had the block crack on both sides and found a whole lot of water in the oil. So the block is done for. Now my question is.... when looking for a replacement 4.3 what do I need to do? I have found numerous motors for a couple...
I have compression tested this motor it has 135 to 140 psi on all cylinders.
the boat has good spark. what happens is when you turn it over it backfires really loud. and yes kicked the ride plate off.
now i have replaced the trigger and flywheel and the timing rod. and timed it per factory...
