    I have a 1987 mercruiser 165. I am taking the altenator off do replace a gasket in the engine circulation pump. I removed the main bolt that connects to the crankshaft but can't get the altenator off. Any ideas how?

    1150 merc 115hp

    Any ideas on an 1150 115hp inline 6 that won't start? Battery and starter have been tested and both are good. The motor turns but doesn't fire. I have put new plugs and new plug wires on. I haven't tried to start it since. Just looking for what to look at next if it doesn't start?
