Another example...how about those disposable John Deer and Cub Cadets Home Depot sells?
Go with a bearing you can grease. Anything else is designed to be a wear item
Understood.
However, from my viewpoint it seemed way to early and way too dramatic for any reason to go the way it did.
ANYHOW... I can see it's a futile argument so we can agree to disagree on it.
OP,
You might want to check the exhaust pipe base for rot. The 3 things I've seen the most on...
Reading this I'm trying to understand why everyone is saying the transom is rotted when you found a tear in the shift cable boot.
Pull the drive and inspect the rubbers and see if there's any other leaks. I think just saying the transom is bad is jumping to conclusions way too quickly.
I really don't know if he does or doesn't. All I know is it's available, the guy needs it and it can be obtained on Ebay. I believe it's Ebays problem to police the legal rights to sell it or not.
Indeed they are. Why would I tell OP that if they were something else?
He specified that he wanted the #6 service manual.
He can find it in .pdf form on Ebay for around $5
I'm sure your mistaken. I believe he has rights to sell it. Its been up for some time now. Regardless, its cheap and gives you the information you need.
i believe he was just asking a few questions. Although he's clearly not fully understanding the problem he is having, it's not your call to pass judgment.
if you feel its a waste of your time, just ignore the topic.
Back up what?
The 2 motors I have work well, burn little fuel and haven't given me a bit of trouble.
Pal, I don't know what you're issue is but I just don't have issues with these motors that some of you seem to have.
No harm, no foul.
I appreciate the concern.
I gotta tell you though, it's quite annoying when your only looking for a simple thing and get called out for not following instructions especially when you weren't looking for any.
Just to clear this thread up. I have an issue, had it for years...
One drive shows some corrosion. One doesn't.
I'm a Power Electronics guy so no, I don't know the field of corrosion operates in saltwater.
I'd stop with the snide comments. Noody likes a smarty pants.
If all you people seem to forgotten, I ASKED FOR THE INSTRUCTIONS ONLY.
Nowhere in this...
Right now on my boat Theres 2 pucks, one in the center of the transom and one starboard. The field crosses between the two. It. There's no way it can cross the port drive because therse no puck on the port side.
The part number posted comes with 3 pucks. I believe one is installed on the center...
