    F150XA Exhaust Corrosion

Hi all, I am after some help regarding changing the exhaust trunk on a F150 that has a corrosion hole. Does anyone have a list of all the parts and seals needed to do this job and also the workshop procedure? Please see pic for the engine detail. Thanks in advance for your input!!

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

Boat is running great! I just now want to put a fuel flow meter in and check the fuel consumption. It currently has a flow meter that’s run through a Simrad GPS, this one is showing a very high fuel use when we are just motoring around looking for fish, so around 800-1000rpm. When sitting on...

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

Testing in good conditions shows we are getting 4800 RPM. The owner said we are still about 2-3 knots (GPS tested) speed off what he has previously had however like I have explained to him top speed depends on swell, tides and wind also.

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

Unfortunatly that sticker is not on this engine! Along with many other things!! haha The engine is running great so far, I will get some fuel usage data soon and that will help tell us a little more. In your opinion is revs are say 500RPM down, what could cause this?

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

Ok, heads have all been reconditioned!! Compressions once engine is warm and with WOT are all between 170 & 180. We got a quick water test in but conditions didn't allow us to spend too much time going over everything. One thing I did notice was our top speed we have lost a couple knots. I...

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

UPDATE - Time to pull the heads off Well it seems the more I find damaged or out of spec and rectify it leads us to another issue!! After performing another leak down test the results are not great! The intake valves on the cylinders (1,2,3&4) are not seating well enough, I believe this is...

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

Hi all, I got down to the boat on the weekend! The oil has been changed and the TPS reads 0.63V in neutral and smoothly increase to 4.49V at WOT. I have ordered a replacement MAP sensor but that is yet to arrive, hoping that will be the final fix to this issue as the engine is performing above...

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

Hi Lpgc, Thanks for the detail!! When the engine locked up it was certainly fuel. When I take the MAP sensor out and the engine starts straight away I agree the reason it starts is because the extra air it's able to suck in through the hole. I will look into the IAC operation and also the TPS...

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

When I was cranking and trying to use throttle it wouldn't start. Apparently before I got involved the only way they could get it to start after sitting hot was to work the throttle and it would start and rev up. I agree by removing the Intake manifold sensor it sucked hard through that hole and...

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

UPDATE So I have now done everything I can think of without the use of the scan tool as I still can't get hold of one! I used my PICO Scope to monitor the crank and cam sensors, and they seem to be working correctly with each other. Water test the boat and its running very well now with alot of...

    Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

Thanks, I have found the crank position sensors brass threaded insert to be a bit loose so I have removed that and going to put some retaining compound on it so that I can eliminate the possibility the crank sensor is vibrating. I am trying to find a new crank sensor here locally from a GM to...
