1995 200 ocean runner VRO output pressure

What is the normal output pressure to the carbs on a 1995 200 Ocean Runner? What is the highest pressure you have seen? At what lowest pressure do you experience surging at mid throttle? (heavy load) Thanks, The Dawg

    Does de-carbing clog recirculation valves?

I have read in a couple of posts that by using the Johnson "Engine Tuner" or Quicksilver "Power Tune" will clog the recirculation valves in my 1995 Johnson 200 Ocean Runner. If so, shouldn't they call it "Engine de-tuner"? I have never cleaned my recirculation valves. All of my plugs look the...

    Indexing plugs on loopers

Is it worth the time and trouble to index the plugs on a 1995 200 Johnson?

If so, which way should they point?

Dry bulb syndrome 200 Ocean Runner

    (from a de-railed post)

I replaced my bulb. It is mounted in the usual place right in front of the engine.
But, each week when I go out, the fuel line is empty, and pumping the bulb sometimes fills the line, sometimes only after I have cranked the engine to create a vacuum.<br...

    How does the ignition work

    I have a 1995 Johnson 200.
Is the ignition timing fully mechanical?
Does the Power Pack over ride the spark advance anytime else then just when Quickstart is functioning?

If my idle timing is 4 degrees farthur advanced at an idle than the spec, does that mean it is 4 degrees...

    What's worse: MTBE or Ethanol

My Johnson manual says to avoid alcohols in the fuel, especially over 10%, to avoid acculmulating water in the fuel, and for other reasons.
Here in California, we have state mandated oxygenated fuel, either with MTBE or ethanol.
MTBE is not good on carburator parts. (plastics, rubber...

200 Ocean Runner 4 turns on needles?

    I have a 95' Johnson 200.
I was cleaning the carbs, and found out all of the idle mixture needles were at least 4 turns out.
Is this ok or is something happening here?

I adjusted them to 2.5 turns out, and it wouldn't idle for more than 10 seconds before dying. (on the...

Reducing pitch for a 4 blade prop

I was looking at this web site, and noticed they recommend reducing the pitch on some of their 4 blade props, sometimes 1-2", or 3-4" for highly cupped props.

http://www.a1discountprop.com/pow-john-evin.htm

I called them, and they said they recommend whenever going from a...

95' 200 Ocean Runner low speed tuning

Ok folks, the new thermostats, 97' blow off valve, VRO pump, filter, QL78YC plugs, fresh 97 octane, have made the boat run great.
But, just off of an idle, like 1/16 throttle, it's not right. Sounds like it goes from running on all 6 at idle to running on 4. As soon as I throttle up just a...

95' 200 Ocean Runner prop choice

Billy Norman Interprise's web site says:

3 Blades or 4?

We recommend 3-blade props for recreational boats with 3, 4, and 6-cylinder outboards and inboard/outboard motors. 3-blade props provide good "hole-shot" and top-speed performance.

We recommend 4-blade...
