Belive my 4.3mpi's rpm range is 4400 - 4800 - just put on a new four blade 21 pitch. WOT w/ 3 people on board today and it was just at 4400 rpm.
Would a 1-pitch lower prop be better for my engine?
Thinking w/ more people on board, I wouldn't be able to pull 4400 rpm - so lugging my engine...
2007 bayliner 185 w/ 4.3mpi and alpha outdrive.
Not sure how the boat measures speed - I don't see a fin or anything by the engine. Any ideas how I might find the problem and fix?
Turned it on and then off - still stuck. All the other guages are working fine.

Put one on my 07 Bayliner 185 w/ the 4.3, seemed to be running great - smoother than my dinged up 3 blade alu prop up to 30, then tried a high speed run up to 40 and it felt like I hit a rock and my outdrive imploded.

Replacing my 3 blade banged up aluminum 23 pitch w/ a 4-blade pro pulse that only goes to 21 pitch...I'm assuming it'll be somewhat similar at the 21 pitch setting, considering I'm adding a blade.
Does this make sense?

I need a bimini and a cargo rack that'll fit under my tower on my 185 bayliner. These things go for $600 online, so I was thinking I could cut a thin piece of plywood in the shape I want, then reinforce it w/ fiberglass cloth and resin, then paint it.
Could then pick up mounting hardware...
Picked up a 2007 Bayliner 185 XT w/ the 4.3 mpi about two weeks ago. Got it for just under $11k. Has 95 hrs on it, spotless interior, couple very small chips in glass that I've fixed on the outside.
I know it's "just" a bayliner, but it's beautiful to me - I think they've come a long way...
So, my tach is reading over 6k rpms - i know it's not turning that fast though - it's a 2007 4.3 mpi - anyone know if you can adjust this yourself and how, or do I need to take it in?
Hi, just got a 2007 bayliner w/ the 4.3 mpi. The engine seems to run great - maybe too great - the tach goes to 6k, but at full throttle the rpms go beyond this into the great unknown area beyond 6k...any idea why this would be?

Can you tell me what goes in this reservoir? It's on a boat I want to buy but the guy doesn't have the owners manual - it's very low and I'm wondering if there is a leak - but don't know what it goes to?
