hey all i just got a gamefisher 15 hp from my uncle. He tells me that he has used it one time for one hour out on the chesipeke bay he only used it to follow the break in instructions. since then in like 1997 it has been in his shed cause he didnt like the little boat and has a pontoon. I gave him 300 bucks for it and took it home. I hooked it up with the ear muffs and he told me to run 25:1 for like the first 2 hours or so and the manual says that too. but as im trying to start it i had problems with the fuel filter assembly on the motor itself. As i primed it from the gas tank hose i saw a stream of gas coming from the gasket where the fuel filter was. i took it apart and it had some cracks in the gasket. i just kinda pushed it together and so far no leaks and i was able to start it with the earmuffs. i was supprised to find that this motor had a pee hole for hot water. I want to replace a few gaskets and the fuel filter. where do i go for this. it runs smooth and shifts nice. Just dont know where to get parts and who makes this motor anyways??? model 225.581508. this is a pretty clean motor i had to shorten the fuel line inside from the fuel filter to the carb cause of a crack and not i cant shift into reverse cause the linkage gets hung up. Should i use that 25:1 mix or not? thanks guys you helped me on a 4 hp evinrude i had.
